Capella’s 20th Anniversary
‘Back in the Day’: The team at Capella reminisce on twenty years of lodging on Lord Howe.
Play David Attenborough for a day! Lord Howe Island is widely known as one of the most naturally significant places in Australia, and these top 10 hikes are best ways to experience it by foot.
Capella Lodge, nestled on the stunning World Heritage-listed Lord Howe Island, is on the doorstep of exhilarating hiking trails for nature enthusiasts and experience-seekers. From challenging uphill climbs to leisurely beach strolls, the island’s diverse landscapes provide an unforgettable experience for every level of hiker. It’s important to think ahead and pack the essentials for your journey. For guests of Capella Lodge, a backpack, snacks, water bottles and sunscreen are included.
Mobile reception on the island is limited and unreliable. While hiking trails are generally well-signed, if you don’t have a designated hiking app like Alltrails, it’s always a good idea to download your maps before hand so they are available offline (both Apple and Google maps offer this feature). You can also view and download the Lord Howe Island Walking Track brochure here.
